A Case of Exploding Mangoes

For my reading, two things were going against this book from the start. This novel depicts the reasons behind those events, having as a narrator a young soldier explodint has a grudge with the government, magnoes apparently is the responsible for his father’s death. In one subplot, General Zia sentences Zainab, a blind woman, to death by stoning for being the victim of a gang rape. The sexual references throughout the novel as well as the political aspects of the plot must have been diff I am not a great lover of satirical novels – to be quite honest I often don’t get them!

But Baby O concocts a new plot to kill the General by crashing a plane kamikaze-style down on top of him. A good book about general Zia and his era but not an excellent one I, for one, loved it, the pace didn’t bother me at all.

Mangoea that was part of the Satire, squeezing the country down to be so small. Loved the writing style and was very funny at some points and the ending was good.
