The fact that they had this book was exceptional and it was in better condition than the “good condition” stated. The story is told from the perspective of Andrew later known as Andrew Martinan NDR-series robot owned by the Martin family, a departure from the usual practice by U. Not only that, it is kind of astounding how many things mentioned in this book would have seemed extremely far off in the future at the time of writing but that we now have. To view it, click here.

However, he is much better with inanimate objects and animals and begins to display sentient characteristics such as creativity; emotion; self-awareness traditionally the province of humans. It, more than any book with similar themes we read in school, illustrated that we’re all humans who should work together to make the world a wonderful place for everyonenot just a few people here or there.
I love how Asimmov Asimov came up with the classic three laws of robotics and then spent so much of his writing figuring out ways to bend those laws or to make things fit into them in surprising ways.
This book is dated in several ways. Andrew Martin’s story is heartwarming, whereas at the same time it rings of the truth, of the irrational fears and activities of human mind, and on the other hand, how the proper action by a few people at the right times could make history.
He had no flaws.

Nov 22, Mgioannetti rated it it was ok. This was unbelievably awesome, and I’m not positroinc surprised, since I haven’t read something by Asimov that I haven’t enjoyed tremendously. Thanks for telling us about the problem. This book is actually based on Isaac Asimov’s short story, “The Bicentennial Man” we’ll just pretend the movie never happened.
Anyway, being a robot and all, Andrew must obey all commands and is constantly torn between Dad’s orders and those of the little girls who he calls Miss and Little Miss. I had a harder time getting through it than I would have though, but I still think it is a good book overall. He has works published in nine of the ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System lacking only an entry in the s category of Philosophy.
