Included humorous helpful illustrations. Made me want to get out and do some overnight hiking.
It has an index for quickly looking up something, and a gear checklist for your trips. I’ve read a ton of backpacking books lately. It is easy to read and with many great illustrations. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. It’s also more practical than the others.

Its very well written, and Don Ladigin knows what he’s talking about, as he’s been going light since You can always learn something by reading about cutting down on weight.
The focus of the book was on packing light compared to traditional hiking techniques.

No trivia or quizzes yet. It’s informational, and the illustrations are funny. This book was an easy read and a good primer for the various gear options when going on an overnight backpacking trip.
The latter makes this such a great book to read, because his illustrations are interesting, humours and informative. Will help any hiker lighten their load whether all of the suggestions are used or not. Though, if you’re looking for more than an intro, I don’t think this will be your book.
