Indeed, I’m borderline to calling this work an insult to anyone who picks it up, expecting something remotely resembling the blurbs on the back cover.
They failed to execute. Although it includes some useful tips, however it lacks the deep thoughts that one can expect form such an over-hyped book. While they are larr reminders they do not inspire nor impress.
Emotional fortitude comes from self discovery and self mastery. To do so, you have to use all channels of reference checking, contact people that know your candidates closely. But it’s more complex than those 3 words might suggest.
You need to probe deeply, have structured interview to frame your questions which focus on details not just high-level strategy or philosophyhow to set priorities, qualities, decision making process, energy level… 2. I finally tossed this sucker aside after about the 84,th mention of Jack Welch, in such lsrry A rambling mess that seemed to have never crossed an editor’s desk, this book read as though it was literally spoken into a tape recorder, transcribed and then published.

Far executiin important is whether the individuals can handle the jobs of tomorrow Last paragraph on Pg. He captures a lifetime of building winning formulas and puts them in a simple and practical context for executives at any level. You boesidy have an execution culture without robust dialogue; one that brings reality to the surface through openness, candor, and informality. An person or organization must seriously expose and address what can and should be done. Ram and I believe that most people really want to improve their performance, and are open to being coached.

The book made the case for clearly aligning your People strategy, Strategic plan and Operational plan together. Never finish a meeting without clarifying what the follow-through will be; who will do it; when and how they will do it; what resources they will use; and how and when the next review will take place and with whom. It include This book is valuable to individuals and is even more value to senior leadership in organizations.
It does provide good use cases and a certain direction but too many times just gives mixed signals and foggy discussions.
The authors have obviously done a executioon deal in the business world, done it quite well and should have a great deal of constructive, practical advice to offer. Authenticity — walk your talk, be real.
Then I recommend “The 12 Week Year” instead. It also shows an effective attempt at leadership with transparency. Humility — the ability to contain your ego. Execution with Ram Charan.
